When you make a purchase from our store, as part of the buying and selling process, we collect the personal information you provide to us, such as your name, address and email address.
When you browse our store, we also automatically receive your computer’s Internet Protocol address (IP address), which provides us with information about the browser and operating system you are using.
Email marketing (where applicable): With your permission, we may send you emails about our store, new products and other updates.
How do you obtain my consent?
When you provide us with personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange a delivery or return a purchase, we assume that you consent to our collecting and using your information for that specific purpose only.
If we ask you to provide personal information for another reason, such as marketing, we will ask you directly for your explicit consent or provide you with an opportunity to refuse.
How can I withdraw my consent?
If, after giving us your consent, you change your mind and no longer consent to us contacting you or collecting or disclosing your information, you may notify us by contacting contact@zimeka.com. You may also register your telephone number with the UK’s Telephone Preference Service to opt out of unsolicited sales and marketing calls.
We may disclose your personal information if we are required to do so by law or if you breach our Terms and Conditions of Sale and Use.
Our store is hosted by Shopify Inc. Shopify provides us with the online e-commerce platform that enables us to sell our products and services to you.
Your data is stored through Shopify’s data storage systems, databases and general Shopify application. Your data is stored on a secure server protected by a firewall.
Payment:
If you complete your purchase through a direct payment gateway, Shopify will store your credit card information. This information is encrypted in accordance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Information relating to your purchase transaction is retained for as long as necessary to complete your order. Once your order has been completed, information relating to the purchase transaction is deleted.
All direct payment gateways comply with PCI-DSS, as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint initiative involving companies such as Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover.
PCI-DSS requirements help ensure that credit card information is processed securely by our store and its service providers.
In general, the third-party providers we use will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to perform the services they provide to us.
However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies regarding the information that we are required to provide to them in connection with your purchase transactions.
We recommend that you read these providers’ privacy policies carefully so that you can understand how they will process your personal information.
Please note that some providers may be located, or have facilities located, in a jurisdiction different from yours or ours. If you choose to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party provider, your information may therefore become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction in which that provider or its facilities are located.
For example, if you are located in the United Kingdom and your transaction is processed by a payment gateway located in the United States, the information used to complete your transaction may be subject to United States law. International transfers of personal information outside the United Kingdom are protected using appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, where required, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an applicable adequacy regulation.
Once you leave our store’s website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or by our website’s Terms and Conditions of Sale and Use.
You may leave our website by clicking certain links displayed on it. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other websites and recommend that you read their privacy policies carefully.
To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to ensure that it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.
If you provide us with your credit card information, it will be encrypted using Secure Socket Layer technology (SSL) and stored using AES-256 encryption. Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, we comply with all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally recognised industry standards.
